KANSAS ABUNDANCE
Kansas Abundance
This landscape began with a simple wish from the homeowners: to bring back the feeling of Kansas they remembered — open, generous, and quietly full of life.
The yard had good bones but no soul. The wind moved through it, but nothing answered back. So the planting design became a way of restoring that conversation — a way of letting the land speak again.
We layered the garden with native grasses, prairie perennials, and broad sweeps of texture that echo the tallgrass landscapes of eastern Kansas. Plants were chosen not just for beauty, but for rhythm — how they move in the wind, how they catch the late sun, how they return each year with more confidence.
What emerged is a landscape that feels alive, abundant, and deeply rooted in place. A garden that honors the prairie without trying to imitate it. A space that feels both designed and natural, structured and free.
Most of all, it’s a landscape that grows more meaningful with time — a quiet celebration of Kansas, planted right at home.
